It’s all over now, the French connection is broken. We’ve sold our house in France and don’t officially own any property there now. Although after a thorough fleecing with capital gains tax it’s nice to know there’s several hundred metres of autoroute somewhere that WE paid for!

Yesterday my four year old son fulfilled a major ambition in his short but full life. After waiting what must’ve seemed a lifetime to him he finally got a ride on a working combine harvester as our neighbour had the contractors in to harvest some of his corn.

What a face, split in two by a smile wider than the Grand Canyon when the huge machine finally came to rest and its driver motioned for him to climb up, what a happy lad…
